well, it is tuesday afternoon and we are at sea for the day. i haven't been able to update the blog until today and i can't upload the pictures....hopefully, another day.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday we were in Venice. It was beautiful weather and the entire population of Venice was on the streets it seemed. It was a national holiday and the weekend and crowds galore. We walked the streets, ate gelato, looked in the shops, gasped at the prices.....the the Euro is up to 1.57-1.60...........the dollar is not worth too much.....

The ship let Venice Sunday evening and we sailed to Split, Croatia where we spent part of the day on Monday. It is the second largest city in Croatia, a population of 200,000. It is a beautiful seaport and in their infancy as far as dealing with tourists, but it was interesting and again, we enjoyed beautiful sunny weather. The main attraction is a palace, built in 295 A.D. by the Roman Emperor Diocletian as a summer place.....700,000 square feet....there is much history there.......much of the palace is used as apartments now and there are many shops and cafes inside as well.

Today is a day at sea as we head towards Athens.....yesterday was Debra's birthday and we celebrated in style.....the food is fabulous....the service even better. This ship has been in dry dock for the last 3 weeks undergoing a complete refurbishing.....

Well, hope all is well at home......we are learning to relax and read and do a lot of nothing.

Will write again tomorrow and hopefully can stay on top of this blogging.....

I just happened to check your blog and saw that you posted something new. I can't wait to hear more from your adventures. Bites that the dollar is not worth much anymore. Definately makes everything pricey now.
